Caitlyn is the Founder of Fearless Readers, LLC and now serves in a leadership role overseeing all coaches and students within the program. She works closely with families and staff to ensure every student receives high-quality, consistent, and effective instruction.
Before launching Fearless Readers, Caitlyn served as a site director for a learning center in San Antonio, where she managed programs supporting students with dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, and other learning differences. It was in this role that her passion for helping struggling readers took root, as she saw firsthand the life-changing impact of the right intervention.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UTSA, graduating with highest honors, and served as a tutor for student athletes during her time there. She is certified in the Barton Reading and Spelling System by Susan Barton and has extensive experience supporting students who are dyslexic through structured literacy instruction.
She built Fearless Readers with the goal of helping students not only overcome reading and spelling challenges, but also grow in confidence and recognize their strengths. Her focus today is on scaling that impact—ensuring more families have access to the kind of support that changes lives.
Shannon is Co-Owner of Fearless Readers and oversees marketing, events, and administrative operations, playing a key role in shaping the overall client experience.
As a mom of four, Shannon’s passion for this work is deeply personal. Her oldest daughter struggled with reading for years before being diagnosed with dyslexia in second grade. Navigating the evaluation and support process through the school system was frustrating and discouraging, requiring persistent advocacy to secure the help her daughter needed.
After seeing the negative impact this experience had on her daughter, Shannon made the decision to pursue private intervention, working directly with Caitlyn using the Barton Reading and Spelling System. The transformation was significant—her daughter not only made rapid academic progress but also regained confidence and a renewed sense of self.
Because of this journey, Shannon understands firsthand what families are going through—the confusion, the frustration, and the urgency to find something that truly works. She brings that perspective into every part of her role, from communicating with families to improving systems and outreach, ensuring that parents feel supported and confident from their very first interaction with Fearless Readers.
