General Education Tutor (Part-Time · In Person)

A flexible role with a growing intervention company that’s expanding into general education support. Ideal if you’re looking for very part-time work with room to grow.

San Antonio / Stone Oak / Bulverde 1099 Contract Very Part-Time (5–8 hrs/wk) Starts August 2026

Fearless Readers is a virtual reading, spelling, and dyslexia intervention company based in San Antonio. We’ve spent almost six years helping struggling learners, and now we’re expanding our offerings to include general education support for families who need more than intervention alone.

We’re looking to contract with one tutor for a very part-time role built around two in-person days each week: a small homeschool group on Fridays, and one-on-one tutoring on one other weekday. As we bring in new students, there’s also the opportunity to pick up additional virtual tutoring hours. It’s a great fit for a teacher who loves variety and wants steady, flexible work through the school year without a big time commitment.

What You’d Do

Two in-person days each week, with the option to grow.

Fridays · In Person

Small homeschool group

Lead a small homeschool group of four students in grades K through 4, meeting in person in the Timberwood Park area. The day is a mix of teaching from a provided curriculum, hands-on STEM activities, and one-on-one help with homework. We’re flexible on timing: you can set your hours in the morning or early afternoon, for a total of two to four hours.
One Weekday · In Person

One-on-one tutoring

Provide three to four hours of one-on-one tutoring and homework support. We can discuss which day of the week works best; there’s flexibility there. And as we bring in new students, you’ll have the opportunity to pick up additional virtual general education tutoring over Zoom.

What We Offer

A flexible role with a team that has your back.

Very part-time by design

Five to eight hours a week across two days, built around a schedule that works for you. As we grow, there may be opportunities to take on an extra student or pick up additional hours, if you’re interested and available. Summer work is an option too.

Students brought to you

For the virtual side, we handle the marketing and matching. You just teach.

We handle the admin

Scheduling, billing, and parent onboarding are taken care of for you.

We manage the parent relationship

If anything ever comes up with a family, we step in so you can stay focused on the students.

Who We’re Looking For

A versatile, dependable teacher who’s comfortable wearing a few hats.

  • Teaching credentials (must meet at least one): a valid teaching certificate or license (any state), current or prior teaching at an accredited school, teaching or tutoring experience at a college or university, or a credential from a recognized certification organization. Texas certification is preferred but not required.
  • Local to the San Antonio / Stone Oak / Bulverde area. Both weekly days are in person.
  • Comfortable with variety. Teaching unit studies from Gather ‘Round, STEM activities, homework help, and general tutoring across the K through 4 range and up.
  • Experience with neurodivergent learners is a big plus. Many of our students have ADHD, dyslexia, or dysgraphia.
  • Reliable technology and a quiet space. Stable internet, a computer with a webcam, and a distraction-free spot for any virtual sessions you take on as we grow.

This contract is contingent on a fingerprint-based criminal background check, completed prior to your start date (a TEFA program requirement).
